Projects Highlights

Camden County Improvement Authority offers a number of services to projects throughout the county. Here is a selection of out recent and highlighted projects.


Camden County Improvement Authority Parking Center

This 1,600 space parking center located behind Cooper University Hospital was opened September 2007 and is a critical asset to the health sciences campus. The Parking Center also holds 9,000 square feet of commercial space on the ground floor. The CCIA financed and managed the construction of the vital asset to the Camden Downtown and Health Sciences Campus.

Cooper Medical School of Rowan University

The Authority  financed and managed the construction of the medical school which opened in  2012.

This is a $100 million, six-story, 200,000 square foot building, with an exterior designed to reflect the historic nature of the community while looking forward into the future.  Inside the building are  Active Learning Rooms – rooms designed to be the home for eight students for their first two years of medical school.  In these rooms, students spend more than three-quarters of their formal class time, focusing on small group discussions and presentations, facilitated and self-directed individual and group learning.

Rutgers Housing

This $40 million student housing project supports Rutgers - Camden enrollment growth plans and has increased residential population of the downtown helping to further revitalize the surrounding neighborhood.  Opened in 2012 this project features 350 apartment style dorms, common spaces and ground floor retail.
